Double New Moon in Cancer
🎶 New Moon on Monday and a fire dance through the night!” 🎶 Duran Duran is helping me get through this emotional moon-day before we fire dance into Leo season.
When we started this journey the new moon at 0° coincided with the solar eclipse. We set out on our adventure to create some good in this world, but the battles along the way were intense.
As Saturn continues to retrograde in Capricorn (work and status quo) and oppose our Cancer moon (emotions and security), it pulled us back into our old ways or the “things that were.” Now we’ve come to the end of all things (well maybe not all things, but it feels like it!) as the moon hits 28° of Cancer, giving us a clearer view of what must end—and instead of looking back, we must move on.
As much as we’d want to remain in certain relationships (especially home/family dynamics) or jobs because we’re comfortable, we must ask ourselves if they lift us up or terribly toxic? However, before we move forward—with the moon in such emotional waters, let’s take a moment to grieve and regroup. How can we deal with the “things that are”? As when Gandalf the Gray fell, the elves of Lothlórien sang a beautiful lamentation of his bravery and Sam even shared a poem about Gandalf’s fireworks.
Perhaps we can find some relief or at least transform this heaviness by focusing our attention on a creative project involving our home environment. We may even find a new place to live. Journaling is also a good way to clear what may be weighing on your mind or heart. Spending time connecting with nature by gardening, walking in the forests or even buying a new house plant, could be helpful too.
We may not know exactly what may “come to pass” as we continue through 2020, but we can take the time that is given to us and transform our grief into wisdom.
