Full Moon in Pisces

Have you ever seen the wolf cry to the blue corn moon?” Well, here’s your chance, because this full moon in Pisces is what Disney’s Pocahontas was singing about. Although this movie is extremely problematic, as most of these princess movies are, the song “Colors of the Wind” hits the feel of this watery moon. Sitting at 10º, the number of determination, independence, and exploration, we may feel compelled to “run the hidden pine trails of the forest” or ask a “grinning bobcat why he grinned.”

This need to connect on a spiritual level within ourselves and our surroundings will also be strengthened by Neptune because it will be conjunct (together) with the moon. Neptune is about faith, imagination and spirituality--things that can’t be seen. Here we can use this energy to connect with our creative and psychic abilities to find calm or an escape from reality--perhaps sitting under your favorite willow tree and sharing a snack with your best animal friends.

But with 6 planets in earth signs including the sun in practical Virgo, our Piscean dreams will have to be put on hold while we tend to our chores like harvesting our corn! Virgo and Pisces are opposites on the chart and we must remember to balance work life while still giving ourselves time to connect on a more spiritual level. The powerful earth energy gets us focused on our routines or work and it’s possible to hear some good news associated with these themes because the sun conjunct messenger Mercury is trine (harmonious placement) with the big three Saturn, Pluto, and Jupiter in Capricorn. I know some places are beginning to open up again and we’ve made more progress in finding a cure for COVID-19. There could also be possibilities in finding a new job or returning to old ones. What is this spark of possible normalcy you speak of? Wait...what are those “strange clouds” ahead??

Ah yes, the only planet in a fire sign, Mars, at home in Aries promises a few battles as it is T-square (not budging) against Venus in Cancer and the big 3 in Capricorn. The compassion and love we want to feel is being met with roadblocks of fear and confusion. The more we push for what we want, the more tension rises in others. We also have no air activated at this time, so our thought process may be a bit impulsive and anxious, not helpful!

Even though the colonizers projected their limiting beliefs upon the ‘savage’ natives, do we need to internalize these beliefs any longer? Is it time to let go of what you’ve been told is true about yourself and this world and go beyond it? This is the beginning of the third act of 2020 and the end of a long history of oppression and fear. We cannot go forward if we’re not together. Like Pocahontas, tried to tell John Smith, “... if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew, you never knew.”
